Chalmus A. Brammer 
October 19, 1924 - October 31, 2010

Chalmus A. Brammer, 86, of Beaumont, died Sunday, October 31, 2010, at Dubius Hospital, in Beaumont, after a lengthy illness.

 

Born in Beaumont, October 19, 1924, to Mary Etta Ash and Samuel Abe Brammer, and he has been a lifelong resident of Beaumont. Chalmus served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and was wounded twice while stationed in the Phillippines.

 

 He worked for Mobil Oil from 1948 to 1984 in the Instrument Department. Chalmus was also a watchmaker and enjoyed working with jewelry.

 

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sue Brammer; son, Chris Brammer and his wife Joyce of Waco; grandchildren, Cade Colby of Baton Rouge and Allison Debes of Beaumont; sister, Sarah Adams of Baton Rouge; and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Susan Debes; and three brothers.

 

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 777 North 4th Street, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
