J.W. Edwards, 78, of Vidor, died Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born August 30, 1932, in Flatwoods, Louisiana. He was a carpenter with Local 502.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years, Jean Edwards of Vidor; sons, Steve Edwards and Tommy Edwards both of Vidor; daughters, Debra Herrera and Michelle Edwards both of Vidor; step-children, James and Tracie Patton and Lindsey and Monique Toups both of Vidor, Jo Ellen Toups of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, David Toups of Tennessee; and grandchildren, Courtney, Kalli, Jaydon, Barry, Tiffany, Heather, Payton, Bradley, Brandon, Brian, and Stephanie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.V. Edwards; and sister, Audrey Edwards.

A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
