Elvis Saulter, 81, of Nederland, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at his residence.

A native of Cherokee City, Texas and resident of Nederland for the past seventy-two years, Mr. Saulter was a United States Air Force Veteran. He retired from Gulf Oil as an Instrument Technician after thirty-four years of service. A member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Nederland, Mr. Saulter helped to build churches with the Texas Baptist Builders. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and all sports in general.

Mr. Saulter is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Jean Saulter of Nederland; son, Tommy Saulter and his wife Penny of Silsbee; five grandchildren, Charles Saulter of Nederland, Angie Simmons and her husband Bryan of Orange, Dana Barnes of Nederland, Michelle Penisson of Silsbee and Dana Elmore of Silsbee; fourteen great grandchildren; brothers, W.D Saulter and his wife Betty and Nolan Saulter all of Riesel, Olan Saulter and his wife Sybil of Deer Park; sisters, Jobretta Curtis and her husband Earl of Riesel and Yvonne Hollister and her husband Mike of Mart.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 22, 2010 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland with Brother Joe Roberts and Brother Frank Hodges officiating, followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Broussard’s.
