Beverly Bayne Roney, 92, of Katy, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at Cane Island Nursing Home in Katy.

She was born on November 18, 1917, in Sour Lake to Grace Cusick and J.G. Fabriguze and was a resident of the area from 1931 until 1996 when she moved to Katy. Beverly retired as the director of Marketing and Volunteer Services at the Texas Department of Mental Health Mental Retardation. Beverly was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she served in several positions. She also served as president of The Pilot Club of Beaumont, Inc.

She is survived by her son, William Louis Roney, Jr. and his wife Anita; grandson, William Patrick Roney and his fiancé Alison Sommers; granddaughter, Cherie Lynn Roney Cox and her husband Cody; great-grandsons, Corey Patrick Roney and Hayden Hamilton Cox.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Louis Roney, Sr.; and two brothers.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Broussard’s.
