Betty Chesson, 82, of Fannett, died Thursday, September 30, 2010, at her residence. She was born November 8, 1927, in Little Rock, Arkansas, but has lived in Fannett most of her life. She worked for South Western Bell as a switchboard operator for several years.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jody Chesson of Fannett; son, Jody L. Chesson and his wife Janice of Fannett; daughter, Lessie Chesson Duplechin and her husband Stanley of Nome; grandchildren, Stephanie Chesson of College Station and Kristin Chesson of Lake Jackson; two brothers, Tommy Cooley of Bevil Oaks and Otha Lee Cooley of the Philippines.

She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 4, 2010, at Hope Lutheran Church, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie, with burial to follow at Broussard’s Cemetery, Fannett. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 3, 2010.
