Ronald "Bob" Robert Roy 
January 13, 1935 - September 28, 2010

Ronald Robert “Bob” Roy, 75, of Livingston, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston.

 

A native of Nederland, Mr. Roy was a retired Navy SEAL, having served thirty years in the Navy and three tours of Vietnam. After his military career, he retired to the Houston and Livingston areas and was a member of the VFW post in Livingston. He will be remembered as a man who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

 

Mr. Roy is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Alice Roy of Livingston; daughters; Phyllis Roy of Tomball, Judith Shumate-King of Houston, Darla Lejeune and her husband Russell of Crosby, Bobbie Head of Lafayette, Louisiana and Robin Ponfick of Houston; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Roy of Houston; sister, Linda Akin of Port Neches. He was preceded in death by twin sons, Ronald and Donald; three brothers and one grandson.

 

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2010 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. Interment with full military honors will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the mortuary.
