Shelva “Shelby” Brown, 73, of Port Arthur, died Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

A private family memorial service was held at Broussard’s in Nederland. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium.

Mrs. Brown was a native of Hilltonia, Georgia and lived in Southeast Texas since 1975. She was a homemaker and will be remembered for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her son, Ronald Brown of Nederland; daughters, Sharon Kay Bourgeois of Winnie, Sue Ann Loden and son-in-law, Jason Loden of Port Arthur and Stacey Leigh Devillier  and her husband Jason of Vidor; grandchildren, Richard Lowell III, Patrick, Matthew, Michael and Caleb Bourgeois, Jason Jr. and his wife Tiffany and Justin Loden and Joshua Devillier. Also survived by great-grandson, Austin Loden; brother, Donald Davis of Waco; sisters, Nell Youngblood of Augusta, Georgia, Cora Lee Morris of Grovetown, Georgia and Geraldine Connell of Harlem, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Davis, brother, Billy Davis and her grandson, Austin Lowell.
