Donald Andrew Jackson, 73, of Sour Lake died Friday, September 17, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. Donald was born September 9, 1937, in Sour Lake to James Milton and Alma (Watley) Jackson. A lifelong resident of Sour Lake, he was a retired oilfield consultant with Eagle Consultants. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sour Lake.
Survivors include his sons, Brandon and Robert Jackson both of Lake Jackson; three step-daughters; nephew, Mike Jackson of Kountze; great nieces, Angie Copeland, Sarah Jackson, and Leah Jackson; great friend, Amy Chapman; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Jackson and nephew, Pat Jackson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sour Lake with burial to follow at Jackson Cemetery in Sour Lake under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, September 19, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s. A Christian Vigil will be recited at 5:00 p.m.
