Richard T. “Dick” Woods, Sr., 94, of Beaumont, died Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. He was born September 14, 1916, to Gertrude Margaret and Ernest J. Woods; and had been a lifelong resident of the Beaumont area. Dick retired as a shift supervisor from Mobil Oil in 1979, after forty years of service to the company. Dick is survived by his son, Richard T. Woods, Jr. of Beaumont; daughters, Helen Jo Clarke of Carrollton, and Susan Hawkins and her husband Steve of Spring Branch; grandchildren, Christopher Hawkins, Jeana Springer and her husband Chris, Michael Peters and his wife Meredith, and Jennifer McKeon and her husband Chuck; one great-grandchild, Paige Peters; one sister. He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Rose Woods; daughter, Betty Woods Peters; parents; one brother; and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2010, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2010, at Broussard’s .
