Ruby Nell Keen, 69, of Lumberton, died Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

Born July 28, 1941, in Ville Platte, Louisiana to Nellie Sheffield and William A. Sprowl; Ruby had been a resident of the Beaumont area most of her life.  She was a retired supervisor with JCPenny Department Store.

Survivors include her son, L.D. Keen and his wife Stacy of Lumberton; grandson, Michael Keen of Lumberton; sisters, Hortense Spangler of Austin and Mary Gibbs of Fannett; and numerous nieces and nephews, Seth Spangler, Susan Wienert, Andrea Rosenbusch, Billy Gibbs, and Diane Henderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2010, at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 L.H.S. Drive in Lumberton with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A Christian Vigil will be 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 19, 2010, with a gathering of her family and friends to follow at Broussard’s.
