Jessie Ruth Abshire, 84, of Winnie went to be with our Lord on September 15, 2010.

Jessie was a life long resident of Winnie and loved her family and friends. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, crochet, playing cards, reading her bible, playing with her grandchildren and making cookies for them.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Broussard’s Chapel, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Broussard’s.

Jessie is survived by her husband, Oran Abshire of Winnie; son, Tim Abshire and his wife Jeanie of Port Arthur; daughter, Ann Donnahoe of Winnie; brother, Addison White of Shepherd; sisters, Bessie Schmuck of Shepherd, Joyce Kent of Stowell and Mary Carouthers of Batson; grandchildren, Tim Abshire, Jr., Cristal Douglas, Monica Sisley, Lisa Munoz, Vallerie Mouton, Brian Dunnahoe, Chad Owens, and Jeffery Comeaux; great-grandchildren, Savannah Thibodeaux, Justine Douglas, Vincent Dunnahoe, Nicholas Dunnahoe, Cody Brock, Jessica Munoz, Kelli Mouton, Joshua Mouton Jathan Mouton, Marcus Comeaux, Trey Comeaux, Caden Hill, Carlea Schroeder, Kelsey Sisley, and Colton Sisley; great-great-grandchildren, Cody Brock, Jr. and Malykhi Brock and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Owens and great-grandson, Dereck Munoz.
