Nealy Poole

Nealy Poole, 83, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010. A native of Pirtle, Texas and a resident of the Beaumont area for sixty years, Nealy was born on August 28, 1927, to Lillian Dunklin and John Mayfield Poole. He was a retired operator from Mobil Oil after thirty-eight years of service and was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean War. A member of the Beaumont Botanical Gardens Society, Nealy was very instrumental in the creation and development of the 9/11 Memorial located at Tyrrell Park. Survivors include his son, Michael W. Poole and his wife Gail of Lumberton; grandchildren, Ryanne Poole, Marcus Poole, Leslie Shelton, Tiffney Hanna and Gairon Poole; and great-grandchildren, Charlie Hanna, Will Hanna, Jackson Hanna and Chase Downs. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; son, Ron; and his parents. His memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive with burial of his cremated body to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday until service time at Broussard’s.
