Maudell D. Griffin, 88, of Vidor, died Monday, September 6, 2010, at her residence.

Maudell was born on August 15, 1922, to Alice Camp and William Roland Dodson in Magnolia, Arkansas and was a long time resident of Vidor.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Griffin; daughters, Mary Yvonne Holmes and her husband Tom of Centerville and Sylvia Ann Chauvin of Brookhaven, Mississippi; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous other extended family members.

She is preceded in death by her son, J.W. Mason.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at First Pentecostal Church of Silsbee, 1440 Highway 92 North, Silsbee, with Reverend H. W. McDaniel and Reverend Homer Looper officiating, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010, at the church.
