Sam Lucia 
December 25, 1915 - September 5, 2010

Sam Lucia, 94, of Warren died  Sunday, September 5, 2010, at Sabine Oaks Home in Beaumont. Sam was born in Beaumont on December 25, 1915, to Manuel and Maggie (Lorino) Lucia. He retired from Lamar University in 1976 as a diesel mechanic instructor. Sam also proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army rising to the rank of Master Sergeant.

 

Sam is survived by his sisters, Marguerite Newton and Mary Catherine Ronsonette both of Beaumont; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Goree Emma Lucia.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, 2010, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kountze with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
