Bert Meaux, 82, of Port Arthur died September 6, 2010 at his residence.  A native of China and resident of Port Arthur since 2002, Mr. Meaux was a retired Crane Operator for Dow Chemical.  He was an avid fisherman and belonged to the Fraternal Order of Moose #2038 in Westwego, Louisiana and was a mason.

He is survived by his wife of ten years, Kathy Levron of Port Arthur; daughters, Nancy Gautreaux and her husband Jeremiah of Lafayette, Louisiana and Nicole Cazaboun of Port Arthur; sisters, Marie Hanks of Covington, Louisiana, Barbara Hooper of Galveston, Ollie Owens of Stevens, Arkansas and Rita Burns of Alaska; brother, Daniel “Danny Boy” Meaux of Marrero, Louisiana; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Westlawn Cemetery, Gretna, Louisiana under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland.  A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
