Charles "Pop" Louis Prunty 
September 21, 1922 - August 30, 2010

Charles Louis Prunty “Pop”, 87, of Beaumont died Monday, August 30, 2010, in Lumberton.

 

He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and had lived in the area for over fifty years.  He worked at Exxon Mobil as an operator for thirty-three years and as a special welder for Bethlehem Shipyard for ten years.  Charles also served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

 

Charles is survived by his wife, Shirley Prunty; children, Connie Ferchau of Spurger, Chuck Prunty and his wife Ennis Fay of Village Mills, Jack Prunty of Lumberton, John Scott Prunty of Silsbee, and Shawn Prunty Smith of Beaumont; grandchildren, Danny Jack Lisenby, James Lisenby, Charlie Lisenby, Cody Prunty, Bris Prunty, Cari Prunty, Chris Prunty, Jason Prunty, Monica Prunty Robinson, Lauren Williams Loupe, Paul Loupe, and Larissa Furchau; thirteen great grandchildren; and brother, Samuel Prunty and his wife Louise of North Carolina.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Edna Prunty and brother, John Prunty.

 

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M.  Wednesday,  September 1, 2010, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville.  A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s with a Christian Vigil beginning at 6:00 P.M.
