Preston James “Pete” Premeaux Sr., 83 of Nederland died, Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 2, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, September 1, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Broussard’s.

Mr. Premeaux was a native and life long resident of Nederland. He graduated Nederland High School where he played football, he also played for United States Marine Corps, and Lamar University where he graduated in 1953. Mr. Premeaux served in the United States Marine Corps in 1946-1948. He retired from Firestone as a Lab Supervisor with thirty-two years of service. He also taught two years at Orange I.S.D. as a chemistry/physic teacher.

Mr. Premeaux was preceded in death by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Joan Premeaux of Nederland; daughter, Julie Lang and her husband Waymond of Nederland; two sons, Preston “Jim” James Premeaux, Jr. of Hamshire, Texas and Joel Premeaux of Nederland; six grandchildren, Jamie Fells, Jessica Gregory, Joshua Premeaux, Holly Mitchell, Greg Lang and Kelly Lang; three great grandchildren, Natalie Fells, Noah Fells and Nathan Gregory, and one brother, Rayfus Premeaux of Nederland.
