Deas Ferguson, 74, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Deas was a resident of the Beaumont area for fifty-four years; born on January 25, 1936, in Hemphill to Ollie Burleson and William Ferguson. He served in the United States Army, during the Korean War and retired from BASF where he worked as a process operator. He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Maxine Ferguson of Beaumont; son, Steven Craig Ferguson and his wife Karen of Beaumont; grandchildren, Amanda Ferguson Terry and Haley Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Emma Layne Landry, Landen Joseph Terry, and Brooks Noah Terry; sister, Carolyn Nemec of Houston; and brothers, Nolan Ferguson of Hemphill and Dillon Ferguson of Evadale. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Broussard’s. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
