Carmen Valdez, 72, of Beaumont, died Friday, August 20, 2010 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth Beaumont. Born on January 13, 1938, in Guatemala City to Clemente Vasquez and Ernestina Hernandez, Carmen was a resident of the area for twenty-two years.
Survivors include her husband, Jose O. Valdez; sons, Marco T. Valdez and his wife Veronica, Emilio Valdez and his wife Roxanne and Oscar Valdez and his wife Estela, all of Beaumont; step-daughter, Adalinda Valdez of Guatemala City; grandchildren, Carolina, Heidy, Oscar I, Isabel, and Emilio, Jr. and Aura Valdez; great-grandchildren, Jacqueline, Sarah, Jose Enrique, Jennifer Marisol; brothers, Jesus Limbano Vasquez, Jose Vasquez, Audelino Vasquez and Arturo Vasquez; sister, Filomena Vasquez and Abelina Vasquez all of Guatemala City.
Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at Broussard’s.
