Maxie "Nick" H. Nicholson 
October 21, 1924 - August 19, 2010

 

Maxie H. “Nick” Nicholson, 85, of Beaumont, died Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

A native of Shelby County and resident of the Beaumont area since 1956; Nick was born October 21, 1924 to Beulah Williams and Zack Hamilton Nicholson. He was a retired train order operator and chief clerk for AT&SF Railroad with forty years of service.  Nick was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-three years, Muriel Nicholson of Beaumont; sons, Don Nicholson and his wife Kate of Willis, Paul Nicholson and his wife Denise of Baytown and Mark Nicholson and his wife Ann of Cabot, Arkansas; daughter, Maxine Nicholson of Cypress; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother, Aaron Nicholson and his wife Patsy of Lufkin; and sisters, Iva Enman of Coppell and Janet Emanis and her husband Billy of Duson, Louisiana.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Broussard’s.
