O. "Hamp or Pop" R. Hampton 
October 3, 1921 - August 18, 2010

 

O. R. “ Hamp” or “Pop” Hampton, 88, of Winnie died August 18, 2010, at his residence.

 

Hamp was a native of McCaskill, Arkansas and long time resident of Winnie. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Mason’s, Shriner’s,  and a retired operator with the Independent Refinery of Winnie.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Broussard’s Chapel, 134 W. Buccaneer in Winnie, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at Broussard’s.

 

Hamp is survived by his daughters, Glenda Leger and Linda Woodruff both of Winnie; grandchildren, Mike Leger, Darla Barrow, Shelly Silcox, Debbie Peltier, Tammy Melancon, Roger Hampton, Regan Hampton, and Ryan Hampton; great-grandchildren, Cade Barrow, Abby Hoffpauir, Carli Silcox Bourque, Logan Silcox, Kurry Peltier, Kacie Brewer, Morgan Melancon, Max Melancon, Lacy Hampton, Colby Hampton, Luke Hampton, Zachary Leger, Lindsay Oxford, and Jermey Greer; great-great-grandchildren, Lane Hoffpauir, Payton Hoffpauir, Lila Oxford, Quinten Oxford, Dennis Greer and Michael Greer and numerous other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Dumas Hampton; parents; brother; sister and son, Ronnie Hampton.
