Jack Tommy Atkins, 82, of Port Neches, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010, at his residence.   Funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Monday, August 16, 2010, in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the mortuary.   Mr. Atkins was a native and lifetime resident of the Port Neches-Groves area and retired as a supervisor from Gulf Oil after thirty-eight years of service. He was very involved in scouting and Little League throughout his life and was a member of The Golden Triangle Antique Car Club. He will be remembered as a man who loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them as often as he could.   Mr. Atkins is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Edith Atkins of Port Neches; sons, Jack R. Atkins and his wife Chris of Austin and Randy Atkins and his wife Sharon of Jasper; grandchildren, Jason and Bradley Atkins of Austin and Dr. Alaina Fournier and her husband Dr. Keith Fournier of Rockville, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Evelyn Fournier of Rockville, Maryland and several nieces and nephews.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Atkins’ memory may be directed to Texas Home Health Hospice 5683 Eastex Freeway Beaumont, Texas 77706 or First Baptist Church Scholarship Fund 1911 Nederland Ave. Nederland, Texas 77627.
