Jack Tommy Atkins, 82, of Port Neches, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010, at his residence. Funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Monday, August 16, 2010, in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday, August 15, 2010, at the mortuary. Mr. Atkins was a native and lifetime resident of the Port Neches-Groves area and retired as a supervisor from Gulf Oil after thirty-eight years of service. He was very involved in scouting and Little League throughout his life and was a member of The Golden Triangle Antique Car Club. He will be remembered as a man who loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them as often as he could. Mr. Atkins is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Edith Atkins of Port Neches; sons, Jack R. Atkins and his wife Chris of Austin and Randy Atkins and his wife Sharon of Jasper; grandchildren, Jason and Bradley Atkins of Austin and Dr. Alaina Fournier and her husband Dr. Keith Fournier of Rockville, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Evelyn Fournier of Rockville, Maryland and several nieces and nephews.
