L. J. Doucet, Jr., 72, of Beaumont, died Monday, August 9, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

He was born December 15, 1937, in Jennings, Louisiana to Alice Royer and Linus Doucet, Sr.; and had been a resident of the Beaumont area since 1972. L. J. worked in the trucking industry and retired from Tri-Mack as an auditor.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Doucet of Cheek; daughters, Cindy Meloncon and her husband Ronnie of Hamshire, Valerie Bounds and her husband Gary of Silsbee, Dawn Sonnier of Cheek and Charles Sonnier of Hildebrandt; sons, Kevin Doucet and his wife Kelly of Fannett, Linus Joseph Guillory and Michael Anthony Guillory; twenty-one grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

His memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium.
