Donnie F. Welch, 79, of Groves, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Cypress Glen East Nursing Home in Port Arthur.

Donnie had retired after working at Deskmukes, Port Arthur Furniture for twenty years and Heaven’s Corner for eight years. She was a faithful member of Park Central Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtis and William Welch; and her sister, Wanda. Her remaining family is her church family at Park Central Church of Christ. She will be fondly remembered for her warm and loving heart, by those who were blessed to have known her.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Park Central Church of Christ, 3901 Jimmy Johnson Boulevard, Port Arthur with Brian French, officiating and Jeremy Houck leading the congregational singing. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland with Gerald French, Greg Guy, Don Laird, Stephen Pitts, Chuck Reed, and Sid Temple serving as pallbearers. Dr. Robert I. Bowling and Roland Sullivan will serve as honorary pallbearers. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Broussard’s.
