Wesley S. Van Etten, 69, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston.

He was born December 24, 1940, in Whistler, Alabama to Viola O. Bridges and Warnie S. Van Etten.  Wesley was a sheet rock contractor and a United States Army veteran.

Survivors include his step-daughters, Kay Carr of Martinsville, Indiana, Pam Leonard and her husband Jeff of Statham, Georgia, Glenda Reith and her husband Marv of Bixby, Oklahoma and Molly Espinosa of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Cecil Van Etten of Calvert, Alabama and Eddie Dean Van Etten and his wife Barbara of Robertsdale, Alabama; and sisters, Shirley Totman and her husband Hank of Francitas and Nettie Jean Hubbard of Calvert, Alabama.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.  A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday until service time at Broussard’s.
