RB "Red" Andress

RB “Red” Andress, 84, of Lumberton passed away Friday, August 6, 2010, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. He was born July 22, 1926, in Beaumont, Texas and graduated from Beaumont High School. After high school he served in the Navy during World War II. Upon completion of his service he returned to Beaumont and went to work for Mobil Oil Refinery. He worked some forty years for Mobil Oil / Chemical. RB started at the Beaumont refinery before transferring to Mobil Chemical on Hwy 90 when it was built. He spent his final five years with Mobil in Saudi Arabia. RB was long time Beaumont resident prior to relocating to Lumberton. RB married his loving wife of sixty-two years, Loretta Luquette Andress in 1948. He was a wonderful loving husband, devoted father, respected coach / teacher, recognized umpire, avid golfer and well liked friend to many in the local community. “Red” was always there to help others with misc. projects when needed and will be deeply missed by all.
RB was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Gail Teresa Matthews, in 1998; brothers, Albert Andress and Robert Andress; and sisters, Betty Watson and Bernice Ward. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Loretta Andress; his son, Riley Bryan Andress and his wife Jewel of Kyle, Texas (with four grandchildren Amanda, Audrey, Ross Allen, Ryan and two great grandchildren Ewin and Aiden); his son, The family would like to extend a special thank you to Harbor Hospice and a very special thank you to all relatives and close family friends who have visited and supported the family over the final difficult days of our loved one.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South L.H.S. Drive, Lumberton followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a Christian Vigil at 7:45 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Broussard’s. The family wishes in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be made to Infant Jesus Catholic Church, P.O.
