Willie L. “Bub” Griffith, 85, of Nederland, died Friday, August 6, 2010, at his residence. 

Bub was born July 15, 1925, in Colmesneil, Texas, to Adnell “Bud” Griffith and Lilly Herrin and had lived in Nederland since 1950.  He was retired from Texaco after thirty-four years of service and was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II. He also was held as a P.O.W and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Lela Mae Griffith; daughter, Charlotte Wallace of Nederland; sons, Ross Griffith and his wife Anne, Randall Griffith and his wife Jody, Gary Griffith and his wife Erin; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Griff, Kim, Karsyn, and Kynnah Griffith, Cheri and Steve Visser, Gwenda and Marlin Golmon, Kameryn and Kade Scroggs, Jake Griffith, Katy and Lance Watson, Ashley and Kurt Wright, Lance Wallace, Tarah, Dustin, Gage, and Cadence Driskell, Zen Griffith, and Emma Griffith; and sister, Eleanor Jordan of Spurger.
