Frances Audrey King Banks (Margie) was born in Beaumont on May 26, 1919, then moved to Port Arthur at an early age. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1938 and attended Port Arthur Business College, which is now Lamar. She married James Daniel Banks on February 28, 1942.  J.D. worked for Gulf Oil, after serving in the Navy during WW II.  In 1979, she, J. D., and their son Doug moved to Wildwood Resort.  In 2008, Margie and Doug moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Survivors include her sons,  Douglas King Banks and James Daniel Banks, Jr., and his wife Nancy of Tulsa, Oklahoma;  granddaughters, Laura Banks of Tulsa and Emily Banks Hecker and her husband Solal; two great-grandsons, Otis and Noah - all of France.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Howard King and Cornelia Chatwin King; brother,  William Howard King, Jr., and her  husband, James Daniel Banks, Sr., and son, Gregory Stephen Banks.
