Eldron "Pete" L. Frank, Jr.
August 9, 1928 - August 2, 2010

Mr. Pete Frank died Monday morning August 2, 2010, after a brief illness. He was born in Galveston, Texas on August 9, 1928, the eldest of two sons of E. L. Frank Sr. and Marie Baveaux Frank, and graduated from Ball High.

He served as a Marine in the Philippine Islands during 1945 and 1946, witnessed the fall of the Japanese forces there, and saw action against communist insurgents after VJ day. Pete also played keyboard and trumpet in the band at his base. After returning to the United States, he moved to Beaumont as an industrial painter, where he met and married Barbara June Choate in October of 1947. Although employed mainly as a painting contractor and wallpaper specialist, he was a master craftsman, building several houses, custom kitchens, numerous boats (including racing hulls), and many clocks.

Pete loved the Boy Scouts and served as Scoutmaster of Troop 22 at Amelia during the 1960’s. He especially enjoyed salt water fishing and shrimping. A fearless mariner, his numerous boating trips still amuse and haunt his surviving fishing companions. A devout Catholic, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and participated in activities for several churches, most recently at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in China.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; his brother, Norman Frank Sr. of LaMarque; son, Patrick (Mickey) Frank of Beaumont; daughters, Sandra Bahr of Beaumont, Candace Wright of California, and Michele Warren of Missouri;  granddaughters, Elisse Wright of California and Ceridyn Wood of Beaumont; and grandson, Ciaran Warren of Beaumont; as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at China Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, at Broussard’s.
