Henry "Jud" Masters Bowman 
February 14, 1937 - July 22, 2010

Henry Masters “Jud” Bowman, 73, of Beaumont, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at his home. A resident of the Beaumont for thirty-eight years, Jud was born to Dona Burns and Henry Masters Bowman on February 14, 1937, in Harrisonburg, Virginia.   He was assigned to the Explosives Ordinance Disposal Unit for the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and presently worked as a petroleum pipeline coordinator for South Hampton Refining in Silsbee. Jud enjoyed camping, canoeing, antique cars, collecting firearms and was a nature and wildlife enthusiast. Through the years he maintained a close relationship with his high school classmates from South Charleston, West Virginia and attended reunions regularly. He was an avid blood donor.         Jud is survived by his daughters, Josie Lee Phelps and her husband Greg of Chicago, Illinois and Erin Elaine Bowman of Beaumont; lifelong companion, Joyce Elaine Bowman of Beaumont; two grandchildren, Meredith Phelps and Andrew Nicholas Phelps, both of Chicago, Illinois; sister, Jane Wilson Wedemeyer of Blairesville, Georgia.   He is preceded in death by his sister, Anne Dice Page.   A memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Broussard’s.   Memorial contributions may be made to National Audubon Society, 225 Varick Street, 7th Floor, New York, New York 10014 or make a blood donation to Lifeshare Blood Center, 4305 Laurel Street, Beaumont, Texas 77706.
