Garry Donovan “Garry Mac” McAlpin

Garry Donovan “PaPa G” McAlpin, 50, of Winnie died July 18, 2010, at the Hermann Memorial Baptist Hospital of Beaumont.

A native of Andrews, Texas he lived most of his life in the High Island and Winnie areas.  Garry was a Tax Assessor with the State of Texas Comptroller’s office.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the First Baptist Church, 1368 Weeks in High Island with burial to follow in the High Island Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will begin Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Broussard’s and prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Garry is survived by his mother, Marjorie McAlpin of High Island; son, Shaun McAlpin and his wife Lindsey of Orangefield; daughter, Holli McAlpin of Bridge City; fiancé, Lou Anne Matthews of Winnie; grandmother, Louise Coutu of East Point, Florida; sisters, Angie Andres and her husband Thomas, Misty Ponder and her husband Tony and Tina Comeaux all of High Island; grandchildren, Aliya Broussard and Rylan McAlpin; nieces and nephews, Connor Andres, Zach Andres, Danielle Perea, Gilbert Andres, Britney Vaughn, Ravon Comeaux, Jai’Dee Comeaux, Taylor Ponder and Brent Ponder and numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J. D. McAlpin, Jr.
