Sergeant Leston "Tony" Michael Winters 
August 21, 1979 - July 15, 2010

Sergeant Leston Michael “Tony” Winters, 30, of Palmyra, Tennessee and formerly of Sour Lake, died July 15, 2010, while serving his country in Afghanistan. Tony was born August 21, 1979, in Okeechobee, Florida. He was a 1998 graduate of Hardin-Jefferson High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Sour Lake.

 

Survivors include his wife, Beth Winters of Palmyra, Tennessee; children, Jonathan Thomas Winters, Remington James Winters, and Emma Elizabeth Winters; parents, Carl and Cheryl Spivey of Sour Lake; grandparents, Leston and Lanita Luke of Springport, Michigan and Gerald and Betty Jo Spivey of Sour Lake; sister, Alisha Elaine Martin of LaBelle; brothers, Terry John Spivey of Southport, Florida and Corbin Wayne Hunt of Sour Lake; and nephews, Terry John Spivey, Jr. and Cannon Gage Martin.

 

Memorial service will be 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Sour Lake, 765 6th Street, Sour Lake under the direction of Broussard's in Kountze. Additional services will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
