Nell V. Thevenot, 81, of Beaumont, died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Village Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lumberton.

A native of Cottonport, Louisiana and resident of the Beaumont area for many years; Nell was born August 30, 1928, to Era Mary Guillory and Leon Guillory, Sr. She was a retired bank teller with Beaumont State Bank, now Bank of America with twenty-six years of service.

Nell and her husband, Newton, enjoyed dancing and spending time with their family and friends. Her family meant everything to her and she loved them dearly; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Strazz and her husband Andy of Lumberton; grandchildren, Michelle Strazz of Lumberton; John Strazz of Jasper and David Strazz and his wife Erica of Lumberton; great-grandchildren, Taylor Harvill and Skyler Harvill; nephews, Danny Guillory of Alexandria, Louisiana, Carl Guillory of Houston, and Robert Guillory of Lafayette, Louisiana; and her niece, Darla Wright of Lumberton.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Newton Thevenot; her parents; and brothers, Raymond Guillory and Leon Guillory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. July 14, 2010, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Broussard’s.
