Deacon Jimmy D Bourgeois 
April 10, 1930 - July 9, 2010

 

 

Jimmy D Bourgeois was called from this life on July 9th to be with the Lord.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Reverend Msgr. Dan Malain officiating with Deacon Harvey Dubois assisting. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with military honors. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at St. Charles Church with a Rosary recited at 8:00 P.M by Deacon Eugene R. LeBlanc.

Jimmy was born on April 10, 1930 in Evangeline, Louisiana.

He served the Lord in the Diocese of Beaumont as a Deacon since 1992, having served at St. Theresa Little Flower in Port Acres and Our Lady Guadalupe in Port Arthur.

Jimmy served in the Air Force from 1948 - 1952 after which he moved to Port Neches where he resided for 58 years.  He worked a career in the petrochemical industry as a production supervisor retiring in 1993.

Jimmy's love and joy in life was for his wife and family.  He exhibited this love through his generosity, care and devotion.

Mr. Bourgeois was preceded in death by sister, Jeanette Bourgeois; brothers, Edward and Charles Bourgeois; sisters, Nella Monceaux, Dorothy Choate and Lynda Monceaux.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bourgeois of Port Neches; children, Carolyn Pinney of Baytown; Pamela Dekerlegand and her husband Daniel of Groves; Barbara Khandaker and her husband Hossain of Houston; Thomas Bourgeois and his wife Debbie of Centennial, CO; Jerome Bourgeois and his wife Laurie of Arvada, CO; Susan Gaspard and her husband Bobby of Tomball; John Bourgeois and his wife Alicia of Fannett and Benjamin Bourgeois and his wife Yan of Roundrock; twenty two grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Jacob Bourgeois and his wife Edna, Anne Robicheaux and her husband Howard, Martha LeBlanc and her husband Eugene, Martin Bourgeois and his wife D’Ann and numerous nieces and nephews.
