Nola O. “Sugar” Zimmerman, 82, of Kountze died on Monday, July 5, 2010 at her residence. Sugar was born in Kountze on March 16, 1928 to C. L. and Clara Frances (Geldard) Wolcott. She was a homemaker and a dedicated mother and wife. She was also a longtime member of the Kountze Church of Christ.
Sugar is survived by her children, Ginger DeLoach and her husband Claten of Kountze, William Robert Zimmerman, Jr. and Jack Zimmerman both of Kountze; her brother, Raymond Wolcott of Kountze; grandchildren, Clate DeLoach, Matt DeLoach and wife Amanda, Lance Zimmerman, Billy Zimmerman, Jerry Don Zimmerman and Amy Zimmerman; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. She is also survived by a very special friend and caregiver, Gladys “Sweet” Matthews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” Zimmerman, Sr. and her son, Terry Lance Zimmerman.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. July 7, 2010 at Kountze Church of Christ with burial to follow in Holland Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday. July 6, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
