Evelyn Stark, 89, of Nederland, passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at her residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Monday, July 5, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Reverend David Placette officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Sunday, July 4, 2010 with a Rosary to be recited at 6 pm at the mortuary.

Mrs. Stark was a native of Port Neches and a lifelong resident of the area. She was a homemaker and member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. She enjoyed working in her flower bed and garden and will be remembered as an excellent cook.

Mrs. Stark was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Stark, Sr. She is survived by her sons, James Donald Stark, Jr. and his wife Judith of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Craige Allen Stark and his wife Herminia of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Robert D. Stark and his wife Mary of Lake Jackson and Kevin D. Stark of Nederland; twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Napier of Tucson, Arizona.
