Sam Lucas Papania, 76 of Nederland passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.   Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, July 5, 2010 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Reverend David Placette officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday at Broussard’s.   Mr. Papania was a native of Laurel, Mississippi and has lived in Nederland since 1950. He was self employed as a home builder, car salesman with Philpott and Entergy Country. Mr. Papania was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland.   Mr. Papania was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Lela Papania; daughter, Kristi Gaye Menefee; sister, Maggie Lou Hall; two brothers, Leonard Papania and David Papania. He is survived by his wife Pearl (Pat) Papania of Nederland; two daughters, Vicki Renee’ Greenslade of Richardson, Karen Kaye Hall of Porter; three sons, Ray Lucas Papania of Kingwood, Paul Alan Papania of Nederland, Mark Papania of Nederland; sister, Diane Hodges of Nederland; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
