William Riley Builderback 
January 4, 1923 - June 29, 2010

William Riley Builderback, 87, of Kountze died on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his residence after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Stoutland, Missouri on January 4, 1923 to Charles Elvin and Maude (Lyons) Builderback. A resident of Kountze since 1947, he was a retired pipefitter/welder from Bethlehem Steel in Beaumont. Bill also proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.  

 

Bill is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Mildred Builderback of Kountze; his son, Charles Builderback of Kountze; his daughters, Hazel G. Key of Kountze and Mary Jane Wells and her husband Billy of Kountze; sisters, Claudine Newell of Stoutland, Missouri, Edna Winfrey of Leviton, Missouri and Martha Burch of Clinton, Missouri; a brother, J.C. Builderback of Clinton, Missouri; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters, two daughters, Judith Overstreet and Maudine Builderback; son-in-law, Ed Key and granddaughter, Jenny Key.  

 

Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Broussard’s in Kountze with burial to follow at Votaw Cemetery in Votaw, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
