Elsiegene Richard, 94, of Beaumont, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Calder Woods in Beaumont. Born April 22, 1916, in Port Arthur to Elsie Mae Orrick and Eugene Joseph Moore; she was a lifelong resident of the area. She attended Texas University and later graduated from Lamar. She was a retired accountant/co-owner of Ray’s Spring Service in Port Arthur and was a member of several organizations such as; the Les Jolie Chapeaux Rouges (The Pretty Red Hats), past president of the Port Arthur A&M Mother’s Club, original member of the Port Arthur High School Red Husser Drum and Bugle Corp (1929-1934), and was the First Royal Princess for the Sunshine Girls. Survivors include her son, Charles H. Crauford and his wife Heather of Beaumont; sister, Jennie Sue Reitz of Arizona; grandsons, Charles P. Crauford and his wife Carey and Steven S. Crauford and his wife Terri all of Austin; and three great-granddaughters, Lindsey Crauford, Kaley Crauford, and Hadley Crauford. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Elton Richard; daughter, Abbie Crauford; brothers, Eugene Moore, and John Moore; and sister, Ruby Nell Etherington. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the church parlor.
