Bobbie Jayne Davis 
June 21, 1921 - June 14, 2010

Bobbie Jayne Davis, 88, of Lumberton, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, after several months of declining health.

 

She was born June 21, 1921, in Beaumont to Hattie May and Robert James White.  Bobbie was employed by Diagnostic Pathology Associates for twenty-seven years retiring at the age of 74. Bobbie married Jesse Millard Davis on May 30, 1942, and was a lifelong Methodist and a member of Woodcrest Methodist Church in Lumberton.

 

She will be missed by her family and friends who knew her as a loving mother and grandmother.  She always made time for others. 

 

Bobbie is survived by her son, Roger G. Davis; daughters, Diane Thompson of Tucson, Arizona and Pam Williams and her husband Chester of Kountze; grandchildren, Trent Leon and his wife Joetta, Cambie Jenkins, Travis Thompson and his wife Cindy, Dr. Roger Williams and his wife Lori and Amber Davis; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and sister, Marilyn Ellis and her husband John of San Diego, California.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse; her parents; grandson, Rusty Davis; brother, James M. White; and sister, Frances Winsman.

 

Her graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Broussard’s.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Billie Jean Sanders for the wonderful care she gave our mother for many years. Also, Dr. Gary Clayton for his devoted care and the nursing staff of Village Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
