Anna Lee Folse Morgan

Anna Lee Folse Morgan, 93, was born to Theodore Louis Folse and Lucille Chauvin Folse on August 6, 1916 in Beaumont, Texas. A strong, resilient Texas woman, Anna Lee left this life on June 14, 2010. Anna Lee graduated from St. Anthony’s High School in Beaumont in 1933 and married Willard Morgan in November 1940. The Morgan’s made their home in Port Neches, where they commemorated the births of each of their children by planting native pecan trees, which still stand today. At the time of her death, Anna Lee was a resident of Gulf Health Care Center in Port Arthur. The family extends its gratitude for devoted attention from her suitemate Florence Junot, her companions Gloria Guidry and Jo Ann Jones, to the compassionate GHCC staff and to everyone who cared for or visited Anna Lee. She was a woman of great faith and was a member of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Port Neches since 1940, where she was active in the Altar Society in her younger years. Anna Lee was an avid armchair traveler through her great love of reading. Her keen sense of humor, gratitude for the smallest of favors, devotion to family and special love for children, chocolates, golf and football were staples of her personality. Anna Lee embraced exercise throughout her life, walking and cycling well into her eighties. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 16 at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Port Neches with Monsignor Bennie Patillo and Rev. D. Stephen McCrate officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends is scheduled for 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Christian Vigil at 6:00 PM, June 15th at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland. Anna Lee is survived by her daughter Wilda Morgan Hayes & son-in-law Ron Olsen of Danbury, CT; son-in-law Sam Loyacano of Port Neches; daughter-in-law Joy Morgan Barten & her husband George Barten of Beaumont; devoted grandchildren: Mary Lynn Sumrall of Port Neches, Sam Loyacano, Jr. and David and Cherie Loyacano of Porter, Elizabeth Hayes of Danbury, Christopher Hayes and Nicholas Elsishans of San Francisco, Anne and Brian Pitts of Campobello, SC and Gregory Morgan of Beaumont; cherished great grandchildren: Tyler and Emily Sumrall, Madilyn and Kelsey Loyacano; siblings Russell & Theresa Folse of Beaumont and Leon & Elizabeth Folse of Victoria, nieces Marilyn, Phyllis, Janet, Cathy, Terri, Kim and Marlene; and nephews David, Rusty, Thomas, Harvey and Scooter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Willard Morgan, her children Carolyn Morgan Loyacano and Michael Morgan, brother Louis Folse, sister Ena Browning John, five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, nephew Joe Folse and grandson John Sumrall.
