Joseph “Joe” W. Dore´, 76 of Groves, passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 14, 2010 at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Groves, with Reverend Msgr. Kenneth R. Greig officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday evening, June 12, 2010 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s in Nederland, with a Rosary recited at 6:30 P.M.

Mr. Dore´ was born in Youngsville, Louisiana and has lived the passed 58 years in Groves. He was retired from Texaco where he worked as a machinist.  He also served his country in the United States Navy. To his family, he was Mr. Fix It or Mr. Clean. He could build or fix anything and whatever he built or worked on, it was spotlessly clean. He enjoyed playing cards at the KC hall on Tuesday nights, going to the boats and tending his vegetable garden. Mr. Dore´ loved being with his family, but most of all he loved playing with his grandchildren.

This November, he and his wife Diana would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Dore´ was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Edia Dore´; sisters, Frances Richard, Eula Mae Fitch, Eula Robicheaux; brothers, Junius Dore´, Willis Dore´ and grandson, Randy Comeaux.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diana Dore´ of Groves; children, Kim Comeaux and her husband Jerry of Port Neches; Jo Lynn Anderson and her husband Chris of Port Acres; Troy Dore´ of Port Arthur; Julie Bertrand and her husband Gary of Groves; Stacy Bordages and her husband Mark of LaBelle; Heather Woods and her husband Clint of Port Neches; grandchildren, Kevin, Ricky, Donny, Crystal and Timmy Comeaux, Lauren and Katlyn Anderson, Ashley and Kasey Bertrand, Drake and Jordan Bordages, Chloe, Reese and Peyton Woods; four great grandchildren; sisters, Inez Arpin and Lillian Lackey and numerous extended family members.
