Nary J. Huval Sr., 82 of Port Arthur passed away, Friday June 11, 2010 at his residence. He was born November 16, 1927 in Port Arthur to the late Ferdinand Huval and Mae Reaux. Nary, graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, class of 1947. He retired from Texaco, Inc. in 1986 as a senior clerk in the Westside Office, with 39 years of service. Nary was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur where he served as a Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of the Senior Club. He also served as an Ombudsman at Gulf Health Center for many years. Nary was a accomplished guitarist and was a former member of the Les Chanteurs Acadien du Texas Cajun Choir, and the Legends Band, and Cajun Country Classic Band. Nary was preceded in death by his parents, also his sister Alida McKague Presley. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Anita Hebert Huval of Port Arthur; daughters, Juliana Jenny and her husband Charles “Chuck” of Port Arthur, and Cynthia Bockius and her husband Larry of Scottsdale, Arizona; son, Nary J. “Jay” Huval Jr. and his wife Linda of Dallas; sister, Bea Schneider of Port Arthur; also nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 14, 2010 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Port Arthur with Rev. T.R. Blanco officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Sunday with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at the mortuary.
