John A. Mason 68, of Houston died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at his residence.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in the chapel of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Dr. in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.

John was a resident of Winnie from 1971 until 2008.  He was a retired pipeliner with Mobil Oil Co. and Winnie Welding Works.

Survivors include his wife, Florence Mason of Houston; sons, Hamilton Mason and his wife, Shirley of Dayton, Jerry Jackson of Copperas Cove, and Martin East of Pt. Lavaca; daughters, Vanessa McCrary of Houston, Becky Johnson and Lynda Abshire of Copperas Cove; brothers, Donald Mason and his wife, Gayla of Newton, David Mason and his wife, Mildred of Bon Wier; sisters, Annie Henry of Kemah, Carol Morton and her husband, Walt of California, Margaret Ferguson, Linda Ashworth and her husband Gordon all of Merryville, Louisiana; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
