Genea Danell Haralson, 31, of Beaumont, died Thursday, June 3, 2010.

Born November 17, 1978, in San Diego, California and a resident of Beaumont, Genea was a 1997 graduate of Hamshire-Fannett High School and received her LVN in 2003 from Lamar University. She was employed at Harbor Hospice and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Beaumont. She was proudly baptized on April 4, 2010.

Genea had a heart the size of Texas. All of you who knew Genea appreciate how special she was. Sadly, she rarely let anyone close enough to her to know about the heartache she carried from a troubled childhood. She always wanted to help others with their problems, rather than bother them with her own difficulties. Genea recently found peace with God, which allowed her to leave us for now. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Survivors include her mother, Patti Young; grandparents, Gene and Gladys West, Sr.; adoptive father, Mike Haralson; grandmother, Jean Haralson; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Keith Jolly and her grandparents, Tom and Othell Jolly.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3650 Dowlen Road, burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of her family and friends will be 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Broussard’s.
