James Roy Boyett, Jr., 54, of Beaumont, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010.  He was born April 6, 1956, to Helen Aliene Johnson and James Roy Boyett, Sr.

He worked as a paint contractor where he met his wife, Donna Benassi and they began a thirty year love affair. Donna worked alongside her husband in several businesses. Known to all his grandchildren as “PaPa” and Uncle Jim to his nieces and nephews, he was a much loved man. He spent long hours with his four sons fishing, which was the love of his life

James is survived by his wife, Donna Yvonne Boyett of Beaumont; four sons, Kevin Benassi of Katy, James R. Boyett III of Gilchrist, Dwayne K. Boyett of Goodrich and Brian Boyett of Crystal Beach; six grandchildren; parents, James and Aliene Boyett of Devers; brother, Jon Paul Boyett of Devers; and sister, Rebecca Villarreal of League City; one aunt and uncle; two nieces and two nephews.

His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at Gravell Hill Cemetery in Hemphill. A gathering of his family and friends will be held prior to his service at Broussard’s.
