Francis Dennis Phelan II, 69, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, after a brief illness.  He was born December 11, 1940, to Patricia Nelson and John Henry Phelan, Jr.  He attended Notre Dame and Lamar, and obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.

Frank is survived by his children, Denise Phelan, Francis Dennis Phelan III, Kathleen Lambright and her husband Dale, Mary Elizabeth Phelan, and Laura McDaniel and her husband Michael, all of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Carla Phelan, Sarah Compton, Tyler Compton, Isaac Triana, Ashley McDaniel, Allison McDaniel, Emily Lambright and Hannah Lambright; sisters, Patricia Malain of Galveston and Mary Ann Edson of Austin; brothers, David Phelan of Boulder, Colorado and James Phelan of Austin; and a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Henry Phelan, Jr.; mother, Patricia Nelson Milam; and brother, John Henry Phelan III.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at St. Anne Catholic Church, with Reverend Msgr. William Manger officiating, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Thursday, June 3, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
