Donnie Holton, 60, of Beaumont died Friday, May 21, 2010, at his residence.  He was born in Silsbee, Texas on August 6, 1949, to Edward and Betty (Cluff) Holton.  A lifelong resident of Beaumont, he retired from Southwestern Bell as a communications technician. Following retirement, “Poppy’s” greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren. He proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Angie McReynolds Holton of Beaumont; children, Amy Schulze and her husband Chuck of Nederland, Brad Holton of Silsbee, Eric Holton and his wife Doree of Beaumont, and Jessica Holton of Beaumont; father, Edward Holton of Bevil Oaks; brother, Robert Holton of Groves; sister, June Holton of Bevil Oaks; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Waunice and J.D. McReynolds of Orange; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and five nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at North End Baptist Church, 5115 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Monday, May 24, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
