Vivian Sourdellia, 91, of Port Arthur, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at Cypress Glen East Nursing Facility in Port Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm Monday, May 24, 2010 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Reverend Monsignor Dan Malain officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm with a Christian Vigil at 6:30 pm Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the mortuary. Mrs. Sourdellia was a native of Crowley, Louisiana and lived in the area since 1929. She worked at Texaco Island Canning Factory as an operator for ten years and will be remembered for keeping her house immaculately clean. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland and also a member of the Texaco retirees association. Mrs. Sourdellia is survived by her son, Jerry Sourdellia and his wife Karen of Nederland; daughter, Jo Ann George and her husband John “Nunnie” of Groves; grandchildren, Lori Wenner, Kevin and David Sourdellia and John, Chad and Jerritt George; sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.V. Sourdellia and her great-granddaughter, Alexa Wenner.
