William Peter Elliott, Jr., 59 of Beaumont died May 16, 2010. Born in Savannah, Georgia but a lifelong resident of the Beaumont area, Pete was the general manager of the Messina's Liquor store, Larry’s Discount Liquor, and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He was known to those who loved him as Pete and/or "Red".
Pete is survived by his mother, Barbara Anne Elliott of Beaumont; son, Billy Elliott of Conroe; daughters, Kelley Elliott of Houston and Kasey Maher and her husband Daniel of Tulsa and their mother, Judy Jones of Conroe; sister, Helen Jorge and her husband Juan of Tomball; brother, Dan Elliott and his wife Judy of Dripping Springs; and three nieces, Barbara and Ashley Jorge and Paige Elliott. He was preceded in death by his father.
Pete was a lifelong resident of Beaumont and he loved his hometown. He was a runner...or more precisely, a jogger, but no one can argue exercise was a part of his daily life. He was a proud supporter of the athletic teams of his alma maters, Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School and Lamar University. He was an active member with the alumni of his fraternity, the ATO's. He was a devout Catholic and supporter of the Church. His favorite pastime was playing golf. Pete enjoyed the game of golf for its competitiveness and the opportunity it gave him to spend time with his cherished friends and family. He also loved hosting weekly card games with his lifelong friends, The Dodge Boys.
Pete was the most loyal friend anyone could ever have. He always put others before himself. He was a devoted son and brother. Pete loved his children more than life itself and would do anything for them. Anyone who was lucky enough to know Pete knows that he is so happy to be joining his beloved dad on the golf course once again. "Give 'em a lick Blue!"
